Today I got down and dirty spring cleaning the garden, like I did my pantry last week. All my lettuce (most of my lettuce) had gone to seed, LC thinks I didn't water enough, so I have been out there watering nightly since, thanks LC. Pulled the seedy lettuces, planted asian greens, new lettuce, added blood and bone into troughs about 5 cm away from new planting as per packet instructions. I am assuming adding it direct into the new planting soil is a bit full on?
Had great joy eating my first yellow bean today, it was so flavoursome. Raw and crunchy, just the way I like it..

Like your chooks in the main pic. Are they yours?
And hang in there with the salad greens and Asian greens right now, as our strong heat isn't really suited to them. Summer is a tough time for leafy greens and vegies in general in Sydney, so if things bolt to seed or behave strangely right now, don't worry. Just wait till the weather cools in March and really get stuck into planting some crops then.
Cheers
Jamie
Yes the chooks are ours, Emily Sandra and Ruby. They are great layers and have been since July last year, getting two to three eggs daily. They do make a mess of the garden tho' shifting and flicking stuff everywhere. Have had to add a lot of changes to keep mulch on garden beds, but mostly they are worth it!
