After all that heat, the water tank pump breaking AGAIN, the infestation of hungry green caterpillars and lessons learned the hard way (if it's not in season DONT PLANT IT) I have to say the garden is looking great. The sound of the rain today has had me looking out to see if I can watch them grow, esp the cucumber and frilly lettuces. My Asian greens have survived the recent heat and I will be there for them from here on in. My zinnias and cosmos have been a pretty addition, but need controlling. I would love my very own field of cosmos for Christmas.
Time for more snail pellets I think and every day watching my green tomatoes gather on the bunch. One bubby one went red and fell off a few weeks ago and boy was she tasty. And the first crunchy divine cucumber, what a delight. You can tell I have never done this before can't you!

Isn't it amazing what some lovely steady rain does?! Great to hear it is going well. I think January and Feb are the hardest months to vegie garden. Beetroot planting soon - seeds are easy and the leaves of the beetroot when they are young are the best part!
Well done, and looking good! The cosmos are very willing self-seeders, so they'll come back again and again. Thank goodness they are extremely pretty weeds, but keep an eye on them, they are space invaders!
